Why Blanes

Blanes marks the official start of the Costa Brava. Just 60 km up the coast from Barcelona, you’ll find a working fishing harbour, a strip of coves you can only reach by sea, the Marimurtra Botanical Garden clinging to the cliffs, and an old town that feels more like an inland village than a beach resort. Less hyped than Lloret, twenty minutes south by car, and noticeably better value once you step away from the seafront.
